Everest Base Camp Trek, Trail Terrain
The total distance of the trek is kilometers. The hike starts with breakfast each day at around 8:00-8:30 am. And if you are in a higher altitude village, the tour likely starts early to catch a breathtaking view of early sunrise over the mountains. We stop for tea breaks, take photographs, and then the hike continues again. Trekking at average hike speed is all you need to do well to adapt your body to the high altitude gain each day. As altitude increases, hike speed slows automatically as the air gets thin, and so does the oxygen level. Duke Nepal Trek’s Everest Base Camp trek of 16 days is perfect as coves enough acclimatization and rest while reaching the Everest Base Camp.
On most days, trekking takes a rest in late afternoons. Everest Base Camp Trek is a well-beaten trek path in Nepal, making routing very easy. As you reach the trek’s end section, you will meet glacial moraines covered in rocks. You don’t need special equipment to pass these tough moraines as there are installed ropes to make your hike easier. In recent years, metal bridges have replaced wooden ones making the journey easier. Food and rest are of utmost necessity in Nepal Everest Base Camp Trek 2022.
Accommodation and Meals, Everest Base Camp Trek
Duke Nepal will accommodate you in a tea house while in the mountains. But in a city like Kathmandu, our own offering is a 3-star hotel in the Thamel area. In the mountains, most tea houses are operated by the Sherpa family. All tea houses have a large central stove burned with local materials to cook and warm the room. In this very room, all trekkers gather, share food at the same table, and talk to each other. Spaces are not heated. However, there are blankets for your comfort. Besides, the sleeping bag is all that you need. Most rooms in these tea houses have rooms with two single beds with mattresses, a pillow, and a blanket. It is a good idea to carry your pillowcase.
Lodges are equipped with solars heating the shower water and providing electricity. Toilets are standard and mostly outside, and they are squat toilets.
There are plenty of options for food during Everest Base Camp Trek 2022. There is a mixture of Nepali, Sherpa, and even Western food for you to choose from. If you are missing any of those pizzas and burgers, well, get them here. But we cannot promise the same taste. The common Nepalese meal is Dal, Bhat, and Tarkari, which is boiled rice, mixed veggie curry, and lentil soup. But this is Everest, where you can find everything from beer, and pastry to pizzas. Shops here sell chocolates, sweet items, snacks, and drinks of variety. One simple rule is to avoid unhealthy and cold foods. The best choice is to go for Nepali food, this gives you all the diet plus the meal is healthy.
