    Lower Dolpo Trekking

    Lower Dolpo is famously known as; the hidden treasure of Nepal’. Lower Dolpo is unspoilt exhibiting the natural and human magnificence at its best. The region was opened in 1990 for foreigners making it comparatively new trekking region in Nepal. Lower Dolpa lies in the Karnali zone and requires special permission to trek.  Lower Dolpo Trekking awards you that peculiar chance of observing alluring landscapes with deep-rooted culture and tradition.     Flora and Fauna

    This trek offers  perfect blend of flora & fauna, mountains, breath-taking landscapes and tradition of the local ethnic people. In fact, you will be encountering exotic animals like Snow Leopard, Himalayan Musk Deer, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Black Bear, etc. Moreover, Dolpo region traverse composes of three high passes;Kangmara La at the altitude of 5115m, Numa La Pass at the altitude of 5360m, making it the highest point of the trekking journey and Baga La Pass at the altitude of 5070m. All these high passes offer the stunning view of the dazzling Mt Dhaulagiri(8167m) and Tibetan mountains like Kugung La and Khyung La. Another major highlight of the trekking is Shey Phoksundo Lake. The gorgeous and deepest lake of Nepal at the altitude of 3611.5 m above the sea level.

    Culture and People

    Tibetan and Magar is the primary habitat of the region. So, you will be witnessing authentic Tibetan and Magar culture along with the ravishing view of monasteries and Gompas.     1. Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

      You will received by our office representative in Kathmandu Airport and then you will taken to the hotel in private vehicle. If you arrive in Nepal at morning or day time then you will get some leisure time to do evening walk in the street of Kathmandu. At night around 8 o’clock we will take you for welcome dinner in the well reputed restaurant. After having dinner, our guide do briefing about the trek and you will taken to the hotel for the overnight.

    2. Day 2 Fly from kathmandu to Nepalgunj

      It will take around 40 min to go to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu in Flight or We can also take local bus or private vehicle to go to Nepaljung. In Nepaljung, we have take one thing in our mind. There is too hot so you should care yourself from hot weather. Bardiya National Park is the main attraction of that place which is famous for Bengal Tiger in the world. We can also add some activites likes Jungle Safari, Jeep Safari, Elephant Riding, Canoying and many more if you want. Overnight at the star hotel in Nepalgunj.

    3. Day 3 Fly from Nepaljung to Juphal and Trek to Dunai

      It is 35 min flight from Nepaljung to Juphal. We start trekking from Juphal. This day, we will trek to Dunai.  The trail descends and winds through local villages. We trek by the riverside and pass Roop Ghar with the water mill. We stay overnight in Dunai.

    4. Day 4 Dunai to Tarakot

      At morning, we do satisfying breakfast and start our second day trekking to Tarakot following the upstream trail of Bheri river. A pleasant trek passes small villages with monastery, mani stones and cultivating fields. It is about 5-6 hours trekking.  Tarakot is a small settlement that nestles high above Thuli Bheri River was once a famous trading point as it was the capital of ancient independent kingdom Tichorung. Most of the natives of the village belong to Magar tribe and the most of them practice Tibetan Buddhism as their religion. We stay overnight at Tarakot.

    5. Day 5 Tarakot to Laini Odhar

      Laini Odhar is the wonderful camping site with beautiful waterfall nearby. It is situatedat the altitude of 3375m above from sea level. Today we passes through the bheri river with great views of Putha Huinchuli and Churen Himal.

    6. Day 6 Laini Odhar to Nawarpani

      It is about 4-5 hours trek. Today we have to pass through the deep gorges with scary cliffs so, you should not leave your guide on  the trail and you should follow the instrution of the guide.

    7. Day 7 Nawarpani to Dho Tarap

      Dho Tarap is a wonderful  settlement that reflects al attributes of Dolpo. This famous settlement of Dolpo nestles high above a wide valley and was a famous trading point to the traders of Tibet and Mustang in the ancient days. Today we have to do 5-6 hours trek to reach Dho Tarap from Nawarpani.

    8. Day 8 At Dho Tarap for Acclimatization

      Today we will take rest and explore the mindblowing Dho Tarap. There is lots of monastries in Dho Tarap including Mekhyim Monastery, Dhoro Monastery and a Bon Gompa of Shipichowk. Among then, Ringo Bumpa Monastery is a sacred monastry which was built 1000 year ago by Jigme Nyima Gyaltzen and Lama Tenzing Tragye to get rid of evil spirits wondering in the region. This monastery resembles the architecture of Samye Monastery in Tibet.

    9. Day 9 Dho Tarap to Numa La Base Camp

      Today you will get a wonderful chance to explore the dramatic views of Shering Gompa which is the house for the monks in the region. It will take  4-5 hours to reach Numa La Pass from Dho Tarap.

    10. Day 10 Numa La Pass to Danighar

      Today is a Challenging day trek to Danighar  from Numa La Pass. Danighar is situated at the altitude of 5310m. It is a hard steep uphill trek for 4 hours with majestic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Norbung Kang and Churen Himal.

    11. Day 11 Trek to Temche from Danighar via Baga La Pass

      Today we have to climb vertical uphill cross the Baga La pass.  It offers great view of Norbung Lang Peak and the entire Phoksundo Lake.

    12. Day 12 Trek to Phoksundo Lake

      Trek down to Yak Kharka, and ascends again towards Ringmo through the lush vegetation of pines, junipers and cypres with the stunning views of towering cliffs and the waterfall on the right, the trail finally stretches to Ringmo, a famous Bon settlement in the region. The final thirty minute downhill trek from Ringmo finally brings us to the mesmerizingly beautiful lake, Phoksundo Lake which lies at the altitude of 36oo from sea level.

    13. Day 13 Explore the Phoksundo Lake

      Phoksundo is the deepest lake in the  Nepal. It is jewel of  the Western Nepal. Its  length is  4.8 km and a depth is 600 m. The Phoksundo Lake is surrounded by snow capped-mountains in all directions. There are more than 20 stupas in the southern belt of the lake. There is a gompa in the eastern side of the lake, where annual prayers are carried out. The waters of the lake plunge over a 167 meter tall waterfall, called Phoksundo Waterfall. One can observe the traditional Tibetan culture in Upper Manang and the Buddhism and Bon-Po in Lower Dolpa, including the Ringmo village.

    14. Day 14 Trek to Chepka from Phoksundo l

      Today we have to do 6 hours trek with uphill and downhill via Chunuwar and Rechi through forest of pines, birches and bamboo with last view of Phoksundo lake.

    15. Day 15 Trek to Juphal from Chepka

      Today is the last day of trek. We have to do 6 hours trek. Trek to Juphal via Shyanta and Kalagaonda through arid landscapes first and then beautiful fields of barley and wheat surrounded by strong trees that include walnut, peach and apricot.

    16. Day 16 Juphal to Kathamandu via Nepalgunj

      We will take fight for Nepalgunj from Juphal. When we reach to Nepalgunj airport, we will move forward for further process to get the flight of Kathmandu. Finally, we return back to Kathmandu at the same day.

    17. Day 17 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

      This is the free day in Kathmandu for shopping, relax and sightseeing. We can offer a full day or half day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley according to the desire of the client.

    18. Day 18 Departure from Kathamndu

      This is your last day in Nepal. We will offer you farewell lunch or dinner according the flight time. Finally we will do good bye to you at Kathmandu Airport.
