     Phoksundo Lake Trek

    Nepal is rich in both natural and cultural Attraction. Among such attraction, Phoksundo Lake (4.94km2) is lying at the hidden Dolpo region of Nepal at the altitude of 3611.5m from sea level.     Shey-Phoksundo Lake is a sacred lake for Buddhist and Bon religion followers. Phoksundo Lake trek takes you deep into a dense forest filled with pines, oaks and fir trees.     Flora and Fauna

    Diverse Flora and Fauna is something that Nepal is rich and popular for. So, to render that extra pleasure to your eyes and camera, this trekking offers the animals like Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Blue Sheep, Tibetan Sheep, Tibetan wolf, Himalayan Thar and other animals.     1. Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu

      Upon arrival at International Airport, our representative will greet you and you will be transferred to hotel. In the daylight you can grab some rest and at the evening, you can walk in mini tourism capital of Nepal, the Thamel. Coloful bazaar, plethora of food, and amazing night life is what Thamel will serve you. You can even do the sightseeing of Bouddha and Basantapur.

    2. Day 2 Fly to Nepalgunj

      In this second day, you of course can do some sightseeing Pashupati, Swoyambhu or explore Kathmandu Newar Food and streets. Then you will be flying to Nepalgunj, the gateway to Far West of Nepal.

    3. Day 3 Fly to Jhupal and Trek to Dunai

      In the third day, we will be flying to Juphal(2502.40m) from Nepalgunj airport. Juphal is starting point of our trek. After landing at Juphal, we will start the trek to Dunai. We will take southeast trail, high above Thulo Bheri Valley, then we will reach Kalagaunda through amazing maize fields. After that, we will follow southern bank of Bheri river. We will pass Roop Ghar and we will finally reach our destination Dunai. (2144m)

      Trekking Time- 3 Hours

    4. Day 4 Trek to Chhepka Village

      After having breakfast at one of the local tea houses, we will start our descend passing through streets of Dunai. We will cross Bheri River. Then will follow the northern bank of river Sulighat before heading to Shey Phoksundo National Park check-post. Then  we will slowly make our way to rock covered trail above Suli Ghad River, then to the route full of hemp trees to Kageni. Then our trail will take us to tropical walnut and maple thin forest. In this point you will see glimpses of tibetan culture. The amazing view of flickering prayer flags, flowing waterfalls, and tropical vegetation on the way to Shyanta village(2530m) is moment to savour. After reaching Shyanta village, we will do about 1.5 hour  uphill walk to reach Chhepka village(2670m)

      Trekking Time- 6-7 Hours

    5. Day 5 Trek to Jharna

      We will start our trekking to Jharana to in the early morning. The trail to Jharana waterfall takes you to amazing cedar forest, to winter settlement used by people of Ringmo village. Then we wil ascend through open coutry side to the height of 3370m. Then will reach the destination of the day, the Jharana Waterfall. Upon reaching Jharana we will awarded with the mesmerizing view of 1083-foot, waterfall and also the far view of Phoksundo lake.

      Trekking Time- 5-6 Hours

    6. Day 6 Trek to Ringmo

      On this day, trekking trail will take us to amazing birch forest and to the timberline of the Phoksundo River. We will cross the bridge and will follow the north trail to ranger station of Phoksundo Lake. After leaving Phoksundo river trench, we will reach yak-filled pasture of Ringmo, a Bon Tibetan village. We will rest at Ringmo village.

      Trekking Time- 5-6 Hours

    7. Day 7 Phoksundo Lake and Tshowa Gompa Exploration

      This day is the exploration day. You can explore amazing serene Shey Phoksundo lake.  You can descend along steep cliffs to the lake. This amazing Lake is sacred among Buddhist and Bonpo religion. Phoksundo lake is popular for its torquoise color and amazing scenery it offers. You can explore Tshowa Gompa, a 900 old monastery at the ridge of the lake.

    8. Day 8 Trek to Chhepka Village

      We will trek back to Chhepka village on this day. We will head towards Sulighad, following the stream of Phoksundo Lake. Then, we will pass through Renje village, and will set our foot in amazing fir and larch forest along Sulighat river and reach Chhepka at 2520m.

      Trekking Time- 6-7 Hours

    9. Day 9 Trek to Jhupal

      After having breakfast, we will retrace the trail to Juphal. We will reach Jhupal village through amazing forests and villages.

    10. Day 10 FLy to Kathmandu(via Nepalgunj)

      We will fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj in the early morning and we will fly to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj. You will be transferred to hotel. Then you can grab some rest or do some more sightseeing.

    Accomodation

    Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek is off the beaten path trek in Nepal. It was a camping type trek but nowadays some tea houses are made. If you expects more luxury accommodation, then you may be unsatisfied. You must carry your own water bottle for drinking water. Moreover,you also have to carry some dry foods or snacks to eat on the way. It is because there is no shops on the trail. In tea houses, you should not expects hot sour.
